I'm an independent contractor since 1998, with experience since 1986 in the scope and implementation of automation controls. I hold a BSEE and MSSE with expertise in Microsoft Visual Development tools as well as a large number of industrial control development systems.
Formal and practical qualifications in electrical and software engineering, including a great deal of hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment. Designed and built systems for major semiconductor processing applications as well as biomedical, public utilities, and test and measurement applications. I provide specifications documents as an integral part of my work, rather than an afterthought. I believe that design documentation is a critical, and often overlooked, element to success.

I then apply systems engineering analysis techniques to creating solutions that are robust and flexible. My aim is to build it as if I were the end user or owner. I have extensive experience with Visual BASIC, Visual C++ and MFC, C# in .NET, industrial control languages for PLC or PC based systems. I am successful at partitioning large applications into smaller sub-projects, facilitating the use of multiple engineering resources with common structure and objectives. I also understand factory host integration and statistical process control features.
